Five Months

To my beautiful girl on your 5th month of life,
You are the most precious gift I could ever receive. I love you so much that it feels like my heart might explode. I will never forget the first time you smiled at me. My heart melted. You are the best child that either your daddy or I could have ever asked for. Last week daddy says he heard you say dadda when he was getting you ready. He has been trying this hardest these past few days to get you to repeat it. As there were only three witnesses, you, Pootie and him, two of which can't talk, I am very hesitant to believe him :) During the past month you have grown so much. You are so intelligent, it blows my mind at the things you have learned to do in only a few months. You are reaching for EVERYTHING, you are holding yourself up, almost able to pull yourself up to sitting position. If you hold onto mommy or daddys finger you can pull yourself up. You are such a pretty girl, you have beautiful eyes and skin. Your hair is starting to grow (finally!). This morning when daddy handed you to me your hair was everywhere. It looked like it had grown over night. You spent your first night away from both of us this past weekend. We all three survived, I heard you didn't cry one time. Not even for your bottle. Mommy & daddy missed you a lot but we are glad you had a good time and got to see Uncle Josh before he left. You will be almost 6 months old when he comes back. You are so sweet and most of the time you are so happy when you wake up. The past few weeks you have shown that big ol temper of yours in the mornings. You don't like daddy getting you up and you let him know it. You just whine a little though, nothing major and then you are happy again. You are so observant and watchful you love to go for walks in your stroller and see everything. You never make a sound just walk beside daddy and smile. We love you so much! Your aunt Veronica buys you lots of green clothes says its because it is your favorite color. Which is a huge coincidence because it turns out green is her favorite color as well. You have decided that you are a fan of the tv remote. We have to hide it from you, you reach for it all the time. You have even learned that just because we put it under or behind a pillow doesn't mean that it is gone. You still are reaching for it moving the pillow trying to get it. Which is amazing! You still love your cousins Chandler & Conner. Conner love to hold you and you love to pull his curls and give him kisses on the cheek (which he wipes off lol). You also love it when Jeremy comes to see you. You give him the serious look for a few seconds and then smile away. You even put your arms around his neck last night, you don't do that for mommy or daddy! It must be something about curly hair :) This month you played with Evelyn and her baby doll. Actually you tried to eat her baby doll. Everything you reach for and get goes directly to your mouth. You tried carrots for the first time yesterday. You enjoyed them but not as much as you enjoyed eating the spoon they were on. I think you would have eaten anything as long as it was on that spoon. When you cough you always sneeze right after, it is so cute! You are such a silly girl. Mommy and daddy will think you are asleep and all of the sudden you will blow a raspberry and start babbling and smiling. People ask if you are always so happy and smiling. The answer of course is YES! You are the greatest baby in the world. You sleep GREAT at night and on the weekends we sleep in till about 10 or so. Hopefully in the next month we will be able to get you to sleep in your crib. You don't need mommy to be right beside you now when you sleep, you stretch out and take up all the space. You get SOOOOO excited when you see the cats. Pootie lets you pet her all the time, Scottie not so much. You shreik and pat your feet when you see them coming and if they are both together, well you are just in heaven! You look from one to the other and back and forth. Yesterday you got to pet Kate for the first time. You tried to hard to pet her head but ended up almost petting her eye! She was gentle with you, she always worries when she hears you cry. She will protect you no matter what. Yesterday daddy put you in the walker. We didn't expect anything but you took off WALKING! You would push yourself with your feet at times and at others you would walk. I was so proud. Mommy has been able to nurse you for 5 months, I hope I can continue for a while longer. I'd like to say that you really enjoy it but truthfully you don't care where your food comes from as long as its coming. Nursing is our special time and mommy will miss it when it ends. Sometimes mommy & daddy wonder what they ever did before you came. Our lives were so boring until we had you but we thought they were fun. Boy were we wrong - Nothing in this life compares to the joy and love you bring to us. We love you so much!
-MOMMA!
