28 Weeks!

Annabelle has a new shreek (I think I spelled that right) it is LOUD. We just got back from Chili's with Seth & Amy and she was doing it to get Seth's attention. Annabelle has turned into a little girl that LOVES to play play and play some more. Still not teeth yet but we got lots of drool. Jason has been on second shift this week and we have missed him. The supervisors were having to rotate supervising second shift as they didn't have one or something. Annabelle has been asleep when he gets home and he has been asleep when we get up. We are going to the beach next week and I haven't gotten anything ready. I am excited for Annabelle to see the ocean and play in the pool. Annabelle had been cutting back on the amount of milk she was drinking but I think that has increased again and I am very thankful for that. I have about 200 ounces or more of milk in the freezer and I hope that she is able to drink it. She is eating some more baby food, she has had bananas and likes those pretty well. She is growing and is such a wonderful child. She is even getting some more hair!!! I can't wait for her to get hair to see the color and if it is going to be thick or thin.

Happy Father's Day

Here is my first attempt at making a video. Normally Jason is in charge of this as he is more creative than I am. I think it turned out alright. It was hard not being to ask him how to do something. The program to make them is pretty straight forward but I still had problems lol. The song is Swept Away by the Avett Brothers. It was the first song Jason ever sang to Annabelle in the hospital.

27 Weeks!

Lots of stuff happened this past week. Annie had her six month well baby visit and she said “HI!” to a man in the waiting room. He was waiting with his daughter and had waved and said hi to her. She waved back and replied HI! I was amazed. It wasn’t a normal perfect wave but she threw her hand to the side. Now she will move her fingers around and try to wave. She is so cute. At her well baby she was weighed, measured and given more shots. She now weighs 19.6 lbs and is about 26 inches long. The doctor said that is not a good representation of her length and as she is older and able to stand it will become more representative. She finished up shots for awhile and doesn’t get anymore until a year. We talked to him about putting off the MMR which is what she is scheduled for in December and he was fine with that. So we are going to put that off until she is 24 months. I explained that I just read too much and didn’t want to take any chances with any links between vaccines and autism and he was very nice about it. She is supposed to also get chicken pox vaccination but I think I will delay that as well. I know this may sound bad but I think I’d rather her get chicken pox than get the shot. When I had them it was a very, very light case and I barely even had any spots. I am hoping that happens with her as well in a couple years. We will go back to the doctor in three months for her next well baby.
We just started her on fruits last week and see seems to like most of them pretty good but out of all she has tried she loves prunes the best. Prunes and squash seem to be her favorite two baby foods so far. She is finally getting to where she will eat a little more of the food. She is a momma’s milk kinda gal. She has also started to eat the sweet potato puffs a little bit better. The doctor told us she can have anything that we eat as long as it’s blended up really well. So far there is no sign of food allergies.
She has actually said two words this past week. One of which was Hi the other was DAH. Sunday night Jason was asleep on the couch, we were playing in the floor and I picked her up, she looked over at him and said DAH. He missed it, she hasn’t said it since. It may be months before she says it again. I guess he just missed out this time.
We watched another volleyball game last night; it was tournament so Aunt Veronica & Uncle Josh came up to go with us. Annabelle slept the entire time again. Apparently she doesn’t find her dah playing volleyball too exciting. Veronica & Josh tried their hardest to get her to say Hi. If you watch her she always moves her mouth to where it looks like she is going to say it but either raspberries or smiles instead. Her raspberries have become pretty forceful lately.
She continues to be as silly of a kid as I’ve ever seen. She plays in the floor a lot now, she loves it. She will roll and roll and roll. She has learned to pull the blanket to her to get the things she wants. They learn so much so fast. We are going to work on signing this week. I have worked with her to sign milk but I think now is a good time to try harder. With her being as active as she is we may have a crawler by the end of the month. She is still pulling herself up on things and standing which is weird to me but I am amazed each time she does it. Life is never boring now that is for sure. I wouldn’t trade my life for anything.

Update

I have added a new background tonight as I have a little free time on my hands. Annabelle is still trying to get those first teeth in and is a little grumpy tonight. She is sleeping on dadda so I figured I'd update my blog while I checked the laundry. I added a counter too, I just restarted it low, I have no clue how many people actually look here so who knows how many hits I've really gotten. Probably very few :) Anyway, I like this background for now. I like to change it ever so often as it get boring. Lots of stuff to blog about Thursday when Annabelle gets another week older!

Sally Girl

Sally Girl is the new filly in town. She likes to stay right around her momma Star for right now. I can't wait until Annabelle is older and rides her. I used to ride Sally Girl's grandmother, Anna when I was younger. She was a beautiful and gentle horse.

Six Months!

To my beautiful girl on your 6th month of life,
Today you woke up just like you do every day, a little sleepy and then you started the raspberries. You don’t like to wake up in the mornings so sometimes you are still a little grumpy but then you get over it and smile big time. We go for pictures tonight and momma is very excited. I love when you get your pictures taken because when I look back at them I always remember what was going on in your life and development when it was taken. You are such a pretty little girl with your dark green, brownish gold eyes. I figured for sure you would be brown eyed and you still may be but right now they are a color different than I have really ever seen. Everything about you is beautiful and in the past month you have started to grow more and more hair. Maybe by a year old your hair will be longer. Right now you and dada have about the same amount . We have been eating vegetables for the past month, squash is your favorite. You didn’t like peas very much nor did you really enjoy green beans. You were okay with sweet potatoes and carrots. Dada gave you some applesauce a couple days ago and you love it. Dada did that on his own, I was going to try and get you to go through more vegetables before giving you the fruits. You were supposed to be getting peaches first anyway. Daddy was trying, he was so proud that he had found something else you loved. You really aren’t too big on baby food in general.
For the past month I have thought you were getting ready to crawl. Now you are REALLY close. For now you have a new way of traveling and getting what you want. You roll to it! You go from one side to the other all over the floor or the bed. You are very sweet and try to give kisses now. In the past week you have started reaching for me and daddy. You have also started to cry to get things, I blame this on granny. You still like to drink out of the sippy cup that we bought for you and are now a pro at using it. You still get so excited to see the cats and Kate. Scottie still doesn’t love you the way that Pootie or even Kate does but she does sleep beside you at night. When you are able to give her head butts you guys will be best friends. We are still trying to get you to sleep by yourself. Mommy will miss you when you aren’t sleeping beside me but it will be for the best. My goal was to have you in the bassinet and then your crib by 6 months. That didn’t happen so now my goal is 9 months.
You are pulling yourself up now like a big girl. It was a total surprise the first time you did it. Good thing dada looked over and saw you or you would have fallen out of your bassinet. You pull yourself up on momma and anything else you can reach all the time now. I have been cleaning up your room and sat you in the crib, looked over and there you were standing, smiling and talking to me. Then you gave me a raspberry. I think we should have named you raspberry with as many of those you give a day.
You are still a friendly girl and will smile at anyone. You like to say “HI” and grin to people when we are out shopping or eating. You like to sing along with momma now that you are getting bigger and sometimes you even try to dance! We are working with you to get you to say dada. You like to babble and we love to hear you talking to us.
I have thought you have been teething for a couple of months now. But they haven’t come through yet. Your little gums are as white as can be, it won’t be much longer. You will look so different with your teeth but you will still be momma’s girl! We are so fortunate to have a wonderful baby like you are. I am excited about the things you are going to be able to do in the upcoming months, I look so forward to watching you grow and get older. I can’t wait to see how much you weigh and how long you are tomorrow at the doctor. I love you so much. You are the greatest gift I could ever receive.
WE LOVE YOU!!!!
-MOMMA!

New name

I have been thinking about changing the name of the blog. Babywelch was taken when I started this back before we knew whether or not we were having a girl or boy. Apparently someone had been using it at one time or other but it was not in use at the time I wanted it nor was it available for new blogs. Sometimes I want to change it but am not sure what to change it too. For now I will probably leave it but tomorrow I may change my mind again. My lil welch is laying on the bed being a possum right now. The cat just meowed so she had to look up and find her. Silly girl of mine!

Pictures

Before Annabelle was born Jason and I used to look at photography websites over and over. We had the ones we wanted to take of our little baby picked out so that when she got here all we had to do was set up the shots and snap. We had even picked out a professional to take her to but considering my Jason is very creative and we have all the stuff we needed we were just going to do them ourselves. Things don't always happen the way that you want them. When she was about a week old I had the normal baby blues, I never cried in front of her, just at Target according to Jason. Three days later I was over them. During that time I felt so guilty about my baby being so far away from her grandparents and other family and also that I did not take the pictures we had picked out of her. Of all the things to get upset over I know, but the hormones are crazy. We really didn't get any good shots of her ourselves, like just posed pictures of her. In reality as we have discussed before Annabelle was not the kind of baby that would cooperate with being posed. She didn't really nap as an infant nor did she like to lay down alone. I am finally coming to terms with the fact that it wasn't really our fault. Things just happen the way that they happen. We are blessed to have the pictures we do have of her. When she was three months we went to Portrait Innovations. We were pleasantly surprised how well they turned out.
Thursday Annabelle will be 6 months old. We are going back to Portrait Innovations and I have no idea what to put on her. I have a couple clothes diapers and a couple diaper covers. They are adorable but I don't know if I want those. We can take pictures like that at home. Her aunts and dad keep her in clothes, she has SOOO many nice outfits to wear. It is going to be soo hard to choose. She just got some more nice dresses last weekend. In all honesty I want pictures of her in all her clothes, but that can't happen. We can get at least two different outfits. I think tomorrow I am going to spend most of the day going through her closet and seeing if we can coordinate our outifts to hers.
Now that she is a little older we are going to do some of our own posed photos. We just have some new ones picked out for older babies. She really enjoys smiling and having her picture taken. She will smile and smile. She is such a happy baby! We are blessed that the biggest issue we have in our lives is what she is going to wear in pictures!

25 Weeks!

My baby is one week from being 6 months old. AH! She has gotten too old too fast! I love her just the same though. She is teething right now. It hasn't been that bad but the little bit of bad it has been broke my heart. Sunday night she woke up SCREAMING! and if you know my child you know that she doesn't cry much less scream. She did it for about 10 mins, I was about to cry, Jason was about to cry. We checked her to make sure nothing else could be wrong, gave her some Tylenol and walked her until she went back to sleep. Just like when she was a newborn, it was sweet if it hadn't of been so sad.

She has been eating squash this week and she LOVES them! She gets excited when I feed them to her and squeezes her fists together and smiles. She does not like sweet potato puffs, she makes a hilarious face when we give them to her but she will eat them. Tonight was the first night she had a whole one, I just usually give her a tiny bite. She doesn't like peas, she made the sour face and made the ECK sound. My child the comedian already.

The biggest event of the week is the fact that she can pull herself up to standing. Yes, before she is 6 months (it might be normal but I think she is special) she is pulling herself up. Jason sat her the pack n play Sunday night to change the sheets. I walked out of the room, heard him yell for me and ask why I left her the way that I did. I just figured she had fallen to her side. I walk back in and she is standing holding the edge of the pack n play. Jason by this time is holding on so that she doesn't fall in the floor. When I walked in she turned to me, smiled and gave me a raspberry. She was big time on those this weekend. Every time you looked at her you got a raspberry. This evening I had her in the crib while I did some things in her room. She was sitting in the middle of the crib playing with her glow worm and next thing I know she is pulling herself up on the crib smiling. She is a rat! I can't believe she is big enough, smart enough, old enough, whatever to be doing these things!

The building is up, we just have to finish the roof and the shingles. I have been very weary of my yard since last summer when we found two (small) snakes. Any size snake almost makes me puke but anyway. Jason found a skin a few weeks ago, then Monday night he found "my friend" who it belonged too underneath the lawnmower. GROSS GROSS GROSS. I asked if had screamed like a girl and he said he hadn't (I don't believe him). He dislikes those things as much as I do. It freaks me out to think that as a child the amount of time I spent in the mountains and creeks and never thought a thing about a snake. My cousin & I used to set Bigfoot traps, yes, I said Bigfoot in the hills behind my house all the time. I never once saw a snake or even thought about them. I think my real dislike of them came from the fact that they surprise you. If I were to see them first I may be okay (probably not, I'd probably still get nauseous). Every single time that I go hiking I see a stinking snake. I went on two different trails at Cumberland Falls and saw one on each trail. Jason makes me wait until the fall to go so there is lower chance of seeing one. A couple years ago a copperhead was in strike position to get me at Red River Gorge. I would have had a heart attack if I had seen it. I would have freaked out and it probably would hae gotten me. Thankfully I have a husband who watches out for me and told me to jump. He then proceeded to take a picture. GROSS new subject. Jason has a cold and is getting fat. Apparently he has gained about 6 lbs lately and believes he needs to start running again ASAP. Big deal I have gained 60 in 9 years. When that happens to him then he has a problem. I still have 15 to lose from the baby. I have noticed in the past week that my clothes are fitting better and better. It does seem that I have lost a few lbs. My hope is that it continues to come off. I think walking with the baby in the evenings is helping a lot. We enjoy the time together, she never makes a sound but watches everything. She also swings in baby swings at the park and never makes a sound. She is a such a wonderful child!
